Abstract:This application discloses a catalyst for the simultaneous removal of cyanide and organic compounds from wastewater via peroxymonosulfate (PMS) oxidation, along with its preparation method and application. This invention belongs to the field of chemical engineering, specifically catalyst preparation technology. The method involves the introduction of metal oxides (e.g., molybdenum, cerium, vanadium) as a substrate, followed by precise doping with cobalt and nickel and the loading of noble metal nanoparticles. This approach ensures the homogeneous distribution of metallic elements while enhancing the catalyst's structural stability, anti-sintering capability, and long-term high efficiency under high-temperature and complex reaction conditions through surface modification. The catalyst prepared by this method exhibits exceptional catalytic activity in the simultaneous removal of cyanide (free and complexed) and organic compounds from wastewater via PMS activation. It demonstrates excellent degradation performance and reaction rate, achieving over 90% removal for wastewater containing 100 ppm of cyanide (free and complexed) and 200 mg/L COD of organic compounds rapidly.
